How Can I Stop Smoking?

On the day you stop

  • Start filling your piggy bank
  • Don't have any cigarettes available - even if that means throwing them away!
  • Get rid of ashtrays and lighters
  • Have your patches or other NRT ready (if needed)
  • Change to decaffeinated coffee and tea
  • Avoid the places where you usually used to smoke
  • Replace smoking with exercise or other pleasurable activity
  • Have a healthy snack when you would normally smoke
